Oil Paints:
Ask any painter and they will have their favorite brands and specific list of preferred colors. It should be reassuring to know that there is a wide variety in what is commonly used!
These are the colors that are necessary for the workshop:
*Alizarin Crimson
*Cadmium Orange
*Cadmium Red Light
*Cadmium Yellow
*Titanium White
*Ultramarine Blue
*Burnt Umber
Extras that can be fun to work with:
Burnt Sienna
Cobalt Blue
Dark or Cold Grey
Lamp Black
Grey
Raw Umber
Sap Green
Veridian Green
EASEL/PAINT BOXES:
As with paints, artists will have their individual preferences. The workshop will have a basic portable field easel for you to use if you don't bring one. You can purchase a decent starting one at art supply stores, including Hobby Lobby and Michaels, as well as on Amazon, Blick or Jerry's Artarama online.
BRUSHES:
Like paints and easels, artists have their favorite types of brushes. Filberts, flats, brights, round and fans are some of the types. A basic student pack of five oil brushes will be sufficient. Bring what you have, and the workshop will provide you with some to use.
